THEME

Every individual’s identity is shaped by four key areas: History, which includes their past experiences and heritage; Purpose, which refers to their sense of direction or meaning in life; Present Circumstance, encompassing their current situation and environment; and Legacy, which is the impact they wish to leave behind or the influence they hope to have on future generations. These four dimensions work together to form a person’s unique character and guide their decisions, actions, and relationships.

For Black individuals, the four areas that shape personhood—History, Purpose, Present Circumstance, and Legacy—are influenced by unique experiences. History is marked by both the strength and trauma of ancestral struggles, such as slavery, segregation, and systemic oppression. Purpose is often intertwined with the quest for self-affirmation and recognition in a world that may marginalize or misunderstand Black identity. Present Circumstance is shaped by the ongoing challenges of racial discrimination, while also drawing on resilience, community, and cultural pride. Finally, Legacy carries the weight of a responsibility to positively impact future generations, preserving cultural heritage and advancing justice and equality. These factors combine to create a distinct and complex journey of identity formation and expression for Black people.

Faith is a powerful game changer that helps navigate the challenges and responsibilities tied to history, purpose, present circumstance, and legacy. As Remix celebrates 15 years, we reflect on the past, empower the present, and look forward to the future with hope. Through this journey, the question arises: How will you allow Jesus to shape your destiny? Join us to explore this transformative possibility and discover how faith can guide and redefine your life’s path.

Why You Should Come

Remix ’25 is an opportunity to get away from the norm and hear from the Lord through incredible preaching, practical teaching in seminars, small groups, and fellowship with others.

It may be a financial sacrifice to attend, but it is worth it! Ask your parents, friends & family members, church friends, or your Pastor to help you attend this regional black student leadership development conference that will help you to mature in your faith.  If 6 people give you $50, you’ll have what you need for the weekend.

Beyond that, ask the Lord to provide for you!  He delights in giving his children GOOD gifts.

Remix is priced to be able to bring you excellent speakers, food, and facilities so that you can spend your emotional & physical energy focused on the Lord and what He would say to you at the conference.  Remix is not for profit.  We exist to help you meet with the Lord.

Don’t let the price deter you from coming. Let’s trust the Lord together to provide what we need to experience this conference. Praying and believing with you.

Hope to see you there!

Power in the Pause- Desiree Green

This seminar will focus on the understanding that prayer is more than a personal discipline—it is a communal force that shapes lives, campuses, and entire communities. This session will explore how to develop a consistent prayer routine, engage in prayer as a tool for outreach, and incorporate prayer walks as a means of spiritual and social transformation. We’ll also examine the cultural significance of prayer within the Black Christian tradition, understanding how our history and faith intersect to fuel resilience, justice, and collective healing. Whether you’re seeking to deepen your personal prayer life or mobilize others in intercession, this session will equip you with practical strategies to engage prayer both individually and communally.
